WHO WE ARE AND WHAT

WE DO

Inspired by the heroes of the volunteer EMS agencies throughout Oregon, we established The Rural EMS Initiative or REMSI. Over the last year we have worked tirelessly to find ways to be of support and bring exposure to the hardworking rural EMS agencies.  With what little money or resources these agencies have - the first responders of rural EMS save the lives and improve the outcomes for hundreds of Oregonians each year. Please take a moment to learn more about these everyday heroes and what we can do as a community to support them.

OUR MISSION

Making the World a Better Place

REMSI staff along with our board of directors and community leaders are dedicated to the mission of creating immediate and lasting change for the volunteers of rural emergency medicine here in Oregon. Our work with EMS providers and  partners is aimed at achieving access to resources, training and education as well as, funding to support these agencies. Join us in learning more about our mission and supporting our cause below.

HOW WE HELP

It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference

Since our inception, we’ve worked around the clock to expand our causes and help the EMS providers that are most in need. Every contribution goes directly to EMS programs making a difference in our communities and keeping us safe and well cared for in an emergency. So if you’re looking to contribute a donation or your time, please get in touch today. Making a positive difference has never been so easy.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

Providing Access to Training and Education

REMSI is passionate about ensuring training and education is accessible for all of our EMS partners. We spend a significant portion of our resources on tackling this problem. And our volunteer trainers spend countless hours on the road and in the fire halls of EMS agencies conducting life saving training to the rural providers across Oregon.

FINANCIAL SOLVENCY

Creating Opportunities for Revenue Generation

One of REMSI's primary goals is to ensure that every volunteer EMS Agency in Oregon is financially solvent. That means the agencies with most critical need for access to resources such as, staffing, training and equipment are partnered with industry leaders who can help them attain their financial goals to support their needs. With your generous donations and volunteering efforts, you have the capacity to help us in supporting these volunteers. Volunteers who may one day save your life. Contact us to learn more.

CLINICAL STAFFING

Helping to Improve Staffing Constraints of EMS

One of the main reasons REMSI was founded in 2017 was to help allevaite Oregon's struggles with Paramedic staffing. We’ve dedicated a lot of man-hours and invested countless resources to improve the outcomes of patients who are ill or injured in remote areas of Oregon. We believe creating opportunities for improved access to resources is the best way to support rural EMS.  Your support is vital, our hope is that you’ll help us continue this work. See how you can by contacting us below.
